They were earlier paired in Vamsi's "Gopi-Gopika-Godavari." Good songs and picturization aside, the picture did not live up to the expectations of Vamsi's fans. However that did not deter producer Ramchand from pairing them again in "Mayagadu". The film is slated to be a romantic comedy with a social message. The director of this film will be Dileep Polan. Venu will play the role of a village simpleton while Charmee will play his love interest. Music is by Chakri. And photography will be handled by Prasad.
