As the name suggests, the film is set in Patiala in Punjab so you can expect a lot of slapstick humor Punjabi laced with sexual innuendo. The film revolves common Punjabi family, and another generation of young Punjabi boy who lives in London.
While working for this young man meets a beautiful girl (played by Anushka Sharma), which gives him the strength to defy convention, even if it means going against the traditions of long-term foster family.
The film is expected to rake in huge sums in the box office, Akshay's popularity as a Punjabi boy is well documented.
